Food, food and more food!

The food options in Austin are amazing. I have been bad in posting where all we have been so I decided to post photos of some of our recently scrumptious meals...even one I made!

Don't drool too much...

Vivi's Videos

V has been growing, learning and being a hilarious stinker lately, and I try to catch it on video every chance I get. She seriously cracks us up. The videos below highlight some of Vivi's big personality.

This is V's crawl. Anyone else think she looks like a pirate with and peg leg?

You might be thinking I am cruel, but she cried when I took the lemon away from her.

She has recently started clapping whenever we say, "Yay!" As we were playing with a toy that sings, "If you're happy and you know it..." V started clapping when it said, "...clap your hands!" I think you can tell by my reaction that this was a first! I will use the word "clap" to try and get her to do so, but she NEVER does...It must be the word "yay" or something that she is excited about in order to get her to clap. I guess we can now add this song to the list of items that gets her to put those hands together!

I just felt plain bad for her. She wanted that ball out and she couldn't get it!

Just another lunch time conversation with the wee one.

As much as I dread the deep tub here in the condo, I think it is time to make the switch. Say a prayer for my back!

Little Stacy Park

I have been waiting to get V on her first swing, and thanks to Andrea, I found a park close by...just off of South Congress. After a short drive V and I arrived at Little Stacy Park and headed for the vacant swings. I think it is safe to say she enjoyed the ride! She also LOVED going after the little leaves and pebbles. By the time we left she had plenty of dirt, smiles and new discoveries for the memory book. (Next time we go back, maybe the wading pool will be open, it starts at 9in deep!)

"Bye-bye!"

Zilker Kite Festival

A couple of weeks ago we loaded up and took our bikes to Zilker Park for the annual Zilker Kite Festival. We were able to secure a spot before it became too busy and enjoy some kite time. I'm not sure if J or Vivi had more fun...

Moments

I can't believe that V will be 8 months old on Saturday...time is flying by. We are having such fun with her at this age, she is always making us laugh and we constantly have an, "Awwww!" noise coming out of our mouths with the sweetness and cuteness Peanut exudes.

Little miss is now crawling everywhere, chewing new foods with her four (almost six) teeth, constantly hugging and playing with the whiskers of her favorite Mr. Fox, testing out a new squeal,  pulling herself up and  standing, laying her head down on her arm while she eats, waving (but only to a select few), clapping, making music, having her favorite books...the list goes on. She is growing up so fast!

This morning after her bottle, she dozed off on my shoulder in the darkness of her room, her little cheek was pressed next to mine and I just kept her there. Who would have have known that the sound of your daughter breathing could be such music to your ears? I just cuddled down and snuggled her close, these moments don't happen often and I just kept thinking that they wouldn't happen when she is all grown up...I needed to savor that moment.

Sure enough, she was soon up and ready to explore the day away, the still sleeping baby girl was part of the past and that moment was gone.

Since her top two teeth have come in, her tongue has been going crazy...and it cracks me up. I was able to catch some of it on video, seriously funny!

Although I can't wait to see what the next month holds, I am enjoying every moment and not rushing past the memories.

Houston, we have a crawler!

Yesterday was Jonathan's birthday, and as her gift to Daddy, Vivi decided to crawl!

V's Bubble Circus

I was finally able to put the finishing touch on V's room last week! The bubbles on the wall proved to be a bit daunting, but once complete, the time was well worth the results!

I thought about bringing down the decor from V's room in Michigan, but it would have been more items to pack and this gave me an excuse to decorate a whole other room for her...oh darn!

Since her room back home has a limited color palette and is a bit more "sophisticated", I decided to go with a lot of bright and fun colors down here. I wasn't intending to do a circus theme, everything just fell in to place once J and I found the big top canopy at Ikea for $10.

We also had to be creative, V's room is a shared space with visitors...some form of privacy was a must! Toys needed to be stored without looking messy and her stuffed friends needed to be easily accessible. Thankfully Ikea came through, again, with the shelving unit.

The rocker and pouf did find their way down from MI...I need my comfort at 4am!

The woodblock printed animal pillows I had been eyeing on Etsy and the wall decals were bought from two other Etsy sellers. The lion poster print came from a great little online shop, The Pippa and Ike Show

Let us introduce you to V's squishy friends!

And a look at V's (much missed) room in Michigan:
